John: No thanks. I’m not worried about getting sea sick, I’m worried about being swallowed by a whale.
Shelley: Ah ha! That’s why they gave us these wrist bands, so they can identify our remains when they open up Moby Dick.
John: Great. Thanks for saying that. Exactly what I want to hear while we’re in the birthing waters of the grey whales, which, by the way, are over three times the size of this boat.
Shelley: I have something to tell you that will help you relax.
John: What?
Shelley: After listening to “Ted Talks” I’ve decided that my New Year’s resolution is,
“To be even more compassionate, more giving, to look out for others before I look out for myself.”
John: Does that mean you’ll risk your life to save me from being eaten by a whale?
Shelley: Absolutely.
John: I do feel better. Come here.
John and Shelley: Mwahhhhhh!!
Boatman: Bella cola!
Shelley: But not before I take the perfect picture.
And Baja RV campsites info…
Shelley and John, you’re volunteer travel reporters for “The Comox Valley Echo” signing off from Loretto.
Love you Guys! Always make me laugh out loud!
Safe travels.
Happy New Year!

How exciting! I’d be so drowsy on Dramamine, that I would have missed the whale. I get that sea-sick.

Thanks so much for the thumbs up. Thank God John didn’t need saving. Was touch and go for a moment as the whale swam under the boat. WT??? Have a great year.

Were they ever. I think we should repeat the trip on the way home because the whales are friendlier after giving birth. John is thinking about this. 🙂

Wow!!! That is something you will never forget. (And the whales were almost as good as the nightly loud ’80s music.) 😈
Happy New Year hugs.

By the way, I meant to ask, what is Bella Cola? Is that what the guide calls that particular whale, or does that mean pretty whale? Not familiar with that particular Spanish phrase. 😉

Beautiful tail. I wasn’t sure what he said either so I kept hammering in english phrases of what I thought he said until this one came up. So windy here today. We biked (pedal) into it. Great work out.
