Every year we head to Arizona. Andrew, our son, joined us for a few days.
After Andrew left, our friend Robbie and his son, Tod arrived.
Tod: That was my first live NBA game ever. Thanks.
Shelley: You’re welcome. Here’s what’s happening for the rest of your “Smiths on Tour” experience.
Golf tomorrow.
Followed by a visit with our old friends (from International School of Bangkok) Stan and Catherine.
More golf. And a third day of golf. Trust me when I say, “I must love you and your dad.” because I’ve never ever played three days in a row of golf.
The next day we drop your dad off at the airport in Phoenix, and head north to Sedona. Which you’ll love. Love. Love.
And finally, one of life’s ultimate experiences, “The Grand Canyon.”The vastness, the ruggedness, the sheer drops, the colours, the beauty, the, the, ….
Tod, there’ve been very few times in my life where I’ve been speechless. Viewing the Grand Canyon for the first time was one of them. You will be humbled by it’s majesitcy.
I don’t know if that’s a word. I do know that it’s one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.
Guaranteed the canyon will be the highlight of your trip. I’m betting it will be one of your top ten experiences ever. Ever.
Shelley and John
What a fantastic landscape: thanks for sharing.

Thanks Pit. To be honest, we hiked down 3 miles and the view under the clouds was pretty amazing. 🙂

Wow Shelley… Magnificent Monday post. But then, you had me at “Arizona.” I can’t even describe how badly I want to move back to the southwest. Thanks for this “fix.” Mega hugs!

Thanks Teagan. You always have such kind words. There’s definitely magic out here. We head north to Red Rocks, a repeat, but then to The Arches, and Canyon Lands before home. We think Colorado’s elevation might be too risky for snow. Maybe next time.

I like the looking off the edge of the cliff shot the best. That would be me.

I almost stepped on a rattlesnake crossing the trail to get a drink of water in Sedona! Jumped at least five feet up in the air!

Now if only someone had taken a photo of that!!! We actually gave Andrew a snake chart for his birthday. There are quite a few nasty ones here in the desert. Would have jumped with you!

Another fabulous Smith adventure, even if the clouds interfered with your Grand Canyon viewing “majesitcy”!

Glad to see you are having a good time, as always! I love Sedona, and the Grand Canyon, there aren’t enough words to adequately describe it. Sorry about the clouds!!

Hey there. To be honest once we started our hike down, we were below the clouds. Amazing amazing areas. We are now in Red Rocks outside Las Vegas and then off to The Arches area. Then home…

You are a better woman than me, hiking into the Grand Canyon, and on a recently healed injury, to boot! Please share some pics of Red Rocks and Arches…those are on our list for someday! 🙂

Thank you for the beautiful vies of the Canyon, Shelly. Sounds like a Fab trip. I guess if that trophy was for Cutest Golfer on the Links then it would be yours… except it’s way too small.
